A grant to cover expenses to attend the annual ASCA National Conference.  Recipient is announced each year during National School Counseling Week in February.

The Oklahoma School Counselor Association is seeking a driven school counselor that possesses leadership skills and a desire to participate in furthering the mission and vision of OSCA through personal enthusiasm, professional advocacy, and active contribution.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be a current member of the Oklahoma School Counselor Association
  • Must be a practicing school counselor in Oklahoma
  • Must be willing to actively serve at least one term on an OSCA Committee

The 2021 OSCA Emerging Leader is Jacqueline Coplen!

OSCA is proud to announce that this year's winner of the Emerging Leader Grant is Jacqueline Epps. Jaqueline is a second-year school counselor at Madison Elementary in Norman Public Schools. Over the last year, she has advocated for anti-racism practices and building a safe, inclusive community at her school by joining multiple school committees such as the Trauma-Informed Campus Committee and the Diversity Enrichment Council. Jaqueline also has a vision moving forward, including networking with other school counselors across the state to collaborate on effective strategies to help her students.

2017 - Missy Smith from Norman Public Schools attended the ASCA Conference in Denver, CO

2016 - Tara Kerr from Perry Public Schools attended the ASCA Conference in New Orleans, LA
